Tulsa Area Football Unsung Heroes - Presented by Advanced Orthopedics
With Football season underway, you know the top players to watch in your area. Below are some unsung heroes who may fly below the radar, but are assests to their team.
Kaden Kelley - Lincoln Christian
Kelley has been a starting defensive lineman the past few years. He has a thankless job but does it without complaint or worrying about stats. He is also an outstanding student in the classroom.
Sam Mayberry - Victory Christian
Mayberry is the type of kid that every coach loves having in their program. He is a leader on campus, heavily involved in multiple extracurriculars, and will be at every Victory athletics event cheering on his classmates. Works hard in everything he does. He will run through a brick wall for his team and give it 100% on every single thing he does. Just a great high school ball player that will be a success in whatever he does in life after football.
Jonathan Molina – Catoosa
Molina has been the kicker at Catoosa for two years. He has the ability to put the ball in the end zone on kickoffs consistently. He also has the leg to put it through the uprights on FG & extra points. This year not only will he be tasked with kicking, he will play important roles on offense and defense. At 6'1" he will be a target at WR, and he has the ability on defense to be a ball hawk at the safety position.
Nick Hagebusch – Chelsea
Hagebusch’s junior season was cut short by a knee injury in the first game. Nick is a tough, gritty player that is akin to having a coach on the field. He was at the point of attack for the majority of the rushing game and made sure the defensive front was properly aligned.
Mykal Matthews - Broken Arrow
Matthews has tremendous talent. The Tigers will find ways to utilize him on offense and defense.
Griffin Forbes – Jenks
The ultimate team player, Forbes is willing to do anything to help the team. Played RB, WR, DB last year as well as starting on multiple special teams. A great young man.
Will Swigert – Mounds
He is a force on defense from his linebacker position and is extremely unselfish on offense. Last year, he moved from running back to guard because the team was thin on linemen and never once complained.
Jaden Brown - Booker T Washington
Brown is a run-stuffer, hard to move, and a leader on and off the field.
