Rejoice Christian's Lauren Force – Athlete Spotlight Presented by Tulsa Bone & Joint
By Travis Sloat
For Rejoice Christian School’s Lauren Force, playing soccer was never a question of if, it was always a matter of when.
“I started playing soccer when I was three years old,” Force said. “My mom played college soccer, so I grew up watching and playing soccer. I fell in love with the game because of the team camaraderie, but also for the healthy competition. I love working with other girls to get the job done, but also to laugh and mess around with them.”
Soccer is ramping up for Force and the Lady Eagles, and she said the team is ready to get out on the pitch and start winning games.
“The team has been in preseason for quite some time now,” she said. “As the other multi-sport athletes come in, we are just finally ready to play some games. We’ve been working hard and can’t wait for district games to start. I am super excited this year because I think that this is one of our most talented teams since coming in my freshman year. We are set and revving to go. We are striving for the best.”
As a senior, Force said she realizes she is in a unique spot to help guide the future of the Lady Eagles soccer team. She said she is excited about that role.
“I have truly enjoyed being a senior this year because it has given me a chance to give the team a better perspective of the game,” she said. “We are striving for a better overall environment and a more positive and inclusive group. As a senior, one of the things I have been currently working on is sending encouraging messages to each girl individually. I also try to help them by answering questions and talking with them while on the field.”
Force said in her free time, she enjoys playing games with her family and hanging out with her friends. She said she loves to read and draw, and also cherishes the times she has had with her youth group as well.
